On wednesdays, Taiamani has school only in the morning so we decided to spend the afternoon at the Brussels Christmas Market. We went straight after lunch so the kids napped in the car. It was very cold (something like 0-2 degrees celsius or 32-35 fahrenheit) but at least it wasn't raining.
The kids behaved fairly good and we spent an incredibly good time. There were Christmas stalls spread out along the main street in Brussels. We mostly bought food items during our stroll, like a giant crepe to start off (they make it in front of you), then a bag of Churros (really good stuff, it's hard to explain, it's just a fried dough that they put sugar on) and we finished off with some good German sausage in a bun.
It was a good thing that we were walking the whole time, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to eat all these.
There was an outdoor ice skating rink, it looked really fun and also crowded with kids. There also was a Big Wheel from where you could see the whole town from high above.
Taiamani and Ilyah went on an old style carousel and didn't want to leave once it was over.
We wished we would have stayed until at least 5pm to see the main touristic spot (Grand Place) being lit with tons of lights. It's really a beautiful sight. However, we had to leave, it was getting to cold for the kids. Next time perhaps.
This is what Belgium is all about: Warm wine and tons of chocolate... and also a huge portion of fries.
Here are my faavorite pictures for that day: a drink break before going home and Daddy and his little girl walking in the busy streets of Brussels.

The town looks like so much fun! It reminds me of the towns I got to visit when we were in Europe back in 2003. Things just are not like that here in the states! I want to come visit!
The pictures are so great! You are really talented! It sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas! We wish you a terrific New Year; may all your wishes come true in this 2008! Love you~
