I've had a tough 2 weeks with Juri coming late home and the kids being sick on and off. So on friday evening, Juri surprised me by getting a babysitter and taking me out for dinner at an Italian Restaurant. I was never an italian food lover because I always thought that the menu would only consist of pastas and pizzas. Well, I was wrong and found out that there was more to it. He took to a "famous" (nothing is famous to me besides "Carrefour" and "Aldi" as I'm always home) Italian restaurant in Waterloo called "L'Opera".
I have to start off the story with Juri telling to dress up for the occasion with anything but Jeans, to wear my Sunday best. That's exactly what I did, wear stuff that I go to Church with, which is pretty simple. For those of you who don't know European women, they're always dressed up so fancy, even to go to the grocery stores or on a walk. And here I am going to that 'fancy' (in my very humble opinion) restaurant, having nothing else to wear than my Church clothes.
Anyway, we got there and the first thing I see are fancy cars, nothing less than a BMW. There were mostly BMW and Mercedes, but also at least 4 Porsches including 2 Cayennes. Here we come with our 1996 Toyota Corolla.
As we were waiting for our table, we were offered wine but took the water instead. The waitress kept asking if we really wanted JUST plain water. I didn't feel very comfortable as we were the youngest couple but also because it wasn't my element.
When we got to our table, we were asked if we wanted some wine again but we took a peach juice instead. As they brought us the salad, I honestly didn't know which silverware to take, the ones closer or further away from the plate, so I looked around and asked Juri to help me.
The food was just out of this world!!!! It was exquisite, waow!!! I was just blown away!!! Every single plate we ordered was unbelievable. I took some kind of eggplant thing as an appetizer and it was to die for. The chocolate cake was incredible. I haven't eaten anything that good in a very long time.
The whole experience was just great, to the point that even until today, we're still talking about it and we're looking for an excuse to go back there again. It was great to spend some time away from the children, and to date each other again, just be the both of us in a romantic setting.
It was great

Reminded me of the time you took us to Chesecake factory (it was my first time), it was so fun! Miss you..
Vaitiare that sounds so wonderful!! I am so glad you two could go out and have an incredible meal together-you deserve it. Good job Juri for putting that together!
thanks you guys. We did have a fun time at Cheesecake factory, it was nice to go all together in one car.
Juri did go the extra mile on that one, he reserved the table and got a babysitter behind my back, without me pushing him to do so.
