Welcoming Kyrill Widiger!

Our little baby boy Kyrill came to this world on Thursday 15th of October 2009 at 9:12 AM.
He was 53 cm (21 inches) and weighed 4 kg (8.8 lbs). Despite the fact that it was our third baby, and to everybody's surprise, I was laboring for 12 hrs.

I checked in the hospital at around 9pm wednesday night (after doing one last shopping for the baby at Carrefour, having dinner, showering the kids and tucking them in bed, then showering myself and finishing packing). The contractions were 5 min apart and I was handling them fairly well. Juri kept joking that the nurses would never believe me that I was in labor.

The nurse checked me and I was only at a 3-4 cm, so she monitored me for about an hour to see if the contractions were indeed regular enough to keep me. She checked me again and I was barely a 5 so they kept me there. I was dilating and effacing very slowly because he was still so high inside that my cervix didn't get enough stimulation.
In the meantime, I was able to peacefully have my epidural, which was really nice.
Then the nurse decided to break my water, which accelerated things up. I wish she would have done the earlier. She also notice that the baby pooped in the bag (just like Taiamani, nice!). I already knew the drill for when I'll start pushing.

Juri and I were trying to decide if he'll be able to bring the kids to school and still be able to see the birth. At 7 am, there was still no sign of Kyrill coming so we decided to keep the kids at home with Grandma Germany. At around 8-8:30 am, I was finally ready but there was no Doctor yet. When he finally arrived at around 9am , they prepped me and 3 pushes later Kyrill was born. They immediately put him on me; he was so warm! He looked just like Taimani and Ilyah when they were born. So much for our blond and blue eyed baby...
