"Hola, acabamos de volver de España hace 2 días" (We just came back from Spain 2 days ago).
Juri and I had planned this little get-away since Ausgust or so of last year, after receiving a promotional email from the Marriott's Hotels. We woke up early on Saturday morning to be able to drop off the kids at the Proudfoot's home in Waterloo. From there, our friend Regina drove us to the Charleroi airport to take the Ryanair flight.
We told the kids a week before the departure that they'll once again stay at "Auntie" (polynesian habits are hard to let go) Julie's house while Papa and Mama will be off to Spain. They were really excited to go there, to a much much bigger house, car and play with Oliver, Ben, Emily, and Michael.
It was a very cold and foggy morning, but we all made it safe to the airport, and then, we were off for 2 and a half hours to Malaga aeropuerto, Spain. We were welcomed by a fairly warm and sunny weather. It was between 14 and 20 degrees celsius (57-68 F) the whole 4 days we were there. How I loved the sun and the warmth Spain had to offer.
On our way to Marbella
It was interesting to see mandarins growing in the city. Taiamani would have loved that.
Juri and I in our 2-bedroom appartment. It would have been great to have the kids too.
After we got ourselves settled, we went to do our little grocery shopping in Carrefour.
That first day, I already had to practice my very rusty spanish from high school. I could somewhat understand them and but had a hard time making sentences, so I would just throw in some words. It was fun.
We chilled a bit, walked around, and relaxed (that's why we came for in the first place).
