I had a pretty hectic and stressful week last week.
This summer hasn't been very sunny, so Ilyah and I kept getting sick on and off. Last monday, I went to the Doc's office with the kids to get Ilyah's meningitis shoot and check his pimple on the lip. The visit was chaotic to say the least but we survived. the doctor noticed Ilyah's cough but nothing very alarming, just our usual runny nose and cough. Well, during the night, Ilyah kept waking up and had some difficulties breathing and was also wheezing. The next day, he was very floppy, tired and would just lay down on the couch instead of playing with his sister. I wasn't comfortable with his breathing problem; it looked too much like asthma ( I have asthma), so I decided to call the doctor and get an appointment asap. He took us right away. He was very concerned about Ilyah's health as he was passing out or sleeping. So he drove me and the kids to the hospital, to the E.R.
Taiamani was stressing out, I was stressing out. At work, Juri was franctically calling people to pick up Taiamani so that I can focus on Ilyah, but to no avail (that's when I sooooo wish I had my family around). We did a few tests, which Ilyah hated and kept crying. I felt bad for him and wish I could take away the pain from him. Then he was given 3 times the nebulizer, after which he was breathing much better, with still a little wheezing though.
Here are some pics of him with his nebulizer the day after. Such a big difference. He got some energy back and wasn't scared and fighting about his nebulizer.

What made it so difficult was that I was also very sick that day, but somehow managed to survive when we were in the E.R.
2 days later, Taiamani got sick , and then Juri (who usually never or rarely gets sick) came down with a cold too.
We found out on friday, when the doctor came at home to visit him, that he had a viral infection, so no antibiotics. It was a severe case of bronchitis with a cold on top of that. I remember something that our old landlord in Hawaii told us once: "when it rains, it pours". That's how this last week was.
Moreover, Ilyah might have allergies like me to dust mites. So we've been thoroughly cleaning the house everyday. We'll do a test skin for him with the allergy doctor in October. I did it for myself in July and it says that I'm allergic to dust mites (big time), bacteria outside, cats and dogs. I pretty much have to live in a bubble to be constantly healthy.

I am so sorry about Ilyah looks like he is recovering well. I know it is not fun when kids are sick especially in your case. Raimana had a severe ear infection this past weekend and he is still not feeling better. Oh well that's life! Hope everything turns out okay for Ilyah.
Oh no! It must have been a very difficult day for everyone. I hope you are all feelinf better! It's interesting to hear that the doctor came to your home though. I wish they did that here!
I think that statement is so true, "When it rains it pours." Next time it pours (or even rains) PLEASE PLEASE call me to help!
Thanks you guys for your support and comments. It was indeed a difficult time, but we somehow survive until the next trial hits.
Lisa - thanks for offering your help. I'm not too good at asking, in fact, Juri takes the initiative without me knowing sometimes. BTW, I don't know your phone #.
