Cold!!!

It's getting colder and colder here in Belgium. We're slowly approaching winter. The leaves have turned into a beautiful yellow/orange/red and are falling. Actually a lot of trees are by now naked. A lot of my friends are enjoying the beauty of Autumn despite the cold, except me! I do agree that the colors are pretty but man, the cold just kills my enthusiasm. My hands and toes are always cold. People have asked me if I wear enough layers... I have 4 layers of clothes when I'm at home. I'm always stuck to the heater. I eat next to the heater, I ask the kids to come read and play next to me and the heater, if they want me to open something, they bring it to me by the heater, I get the computer next to the heater. To sum up, the heater is my best friend.


Lately in the morning, it's been freezing to the point that there's some frost on the windows of the car. So that leaves me scrapping the windows every morning before I go to Taiamani's school and my fingers get frozen. I have a hard time moving them afterwards. I put the kids in the car with the heater on while I scrape the windows and they just crack up watching mommy getting her fingers frozen. At least somebody is having fun.

I've thought a lot about what some people told me about having the 4 seasons and how beautiful and fun it is. Well... let me tell you this: I LOVE having the summer all year long!!!!! I don't know if it's because I grew up like that but I miss having the sun most of the time. It's so much more fun for the kids (in my opinion) to always be able to play outside. I don't mind the 4 seasons if it's just on vacation.
