I've been asked to explain about digital scrapbooking. I know 2 ways of doing digital scrapbooking: the easy and fast way and the longer and the bit more complicated way.
The easier way has been explained to me by my friend Cindy during the Super Saturday I've talked about earlier. If she doesn't mind, I'd like to use the term photo book because that's pretty what you are making in the end. You go to a picture website like Kodak, Shutterfly, Apple iPhoto, or MyPublisher ... there are a lot of websites out there, but these are my favorites. Here are the steps that my friend shared with us during the class (I just didn't want to plagiarize):
- download the software
-upload/input photos
- organize photos by dragging and dropping them in the order you want them to appear
- make book
- preview and purchase
Now let's move on to the other way of scrapbooking. I have personally been doing it ever since we moved here to Belgium. I self-taught myself everything, so if I can do it with 2 kids, and husband and a house to take care of, you can do it too. You would need a version of Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro (the newer the better I think), a computer (obviously, that's why it's called "digital"), internet (very helpful), and a good amount of GB (gigabytes) in your hard drive. You would also need to know how to use photoshop or other programs. I personally went to the digital scrapbooking websites and looked for tutorials (look in the sidebar for them). Now you will need papers, embellishments and pictures. Because i have very limited amount of funds, if any, I only use freebies that I find in digiscrap blogs (listed in the sidebar). There are freebies everyday, you just pick the one you like and leave some "thank you's" if you download. For inspiration, I look through blogs or digiscrap galleries like acherryontop, digitaldesigners, scrapbookplace ... the world of digital scrapbooking is endless, just google it. I'd like to warn you that it does take time and commitment (I do sacrifice quite a few things like working out(no money), or watch TV (we don't have a TV), napping), but the end product is just amazing.
I love doing it because it doesn't cost me anything (thank goodness for freebies), it is fairly compact (very important aspect since we move a lot) and if you like a paper or an embellishment but don't like the color, you can just recolor it.
I hope that my explanation was ok; I really tried to do my best. It would have been easier to just show you, but because of the distance, it's not possible.

Wow, the scrapbook pages look great! I love stuff like this! You are awesome!
Hey Starlyn,
thanks for the comment. I love digital scrapbooking but it takes so much time that I can probably do 2 max a month. It's really fun if you know how photoshop works. I might see you making some someday...
Take care
